ICONIC AT THE FRANKLIN
Studio Anika was invited to create elegant stationery pieces for mentor Katie Julia’s Christmas Iconic festivities.
A celebration of the successes of all her mentees that year, our brief was to create art pieces with bold, contrasting textures, where elegant typography is complemented by striking, statement floral art. Katie wanted to showcase the artistic focus of the Iconic mentorship through her event, so the brief was that creative expression should set the tone and the mood in this monochromatic, luxurious space at The Franklin Hotel, Mayfair.
Alongside floristry in black and white, sumptuous velvet upholstery and decadent marble floors, our event stationery provided pieces of art to add even more expression to an immersive and evocative atmosphere, sparkling with Christmas festivity and excitement.

BEHIND ICONIC AT THE FRANKLIN
The Franklin restaurant provides an intimate space for 30 diners, and exudes a sense of luxury. Timeless, but with an injection of Art Deco, the monochromatic space is softened with grey, and burnished by candlelight.
We contrasted the bold simplicity of a monochrome palette and constrained, elegant typography with sculptural, intuitive, continuous line drawing.
This free sketchwork - a flower - allowed artistry to be the hero here, changing the function of the event stationery into a keepsake and art piece in its own right.
We printed these pieces using a pure white ink, to maintain the spontaneous lines of the artwork and highlight the marks and hand of the artist, through texture and contrast.
